Russia bans author Jeffery Archer novel about KGB assassination

Jeffrey Archer

Author and former British MP Jeffrey Archer's novel 'Heads You Win' has been banned in Russia.

The author's latest novel was turned down by 21 publishers in the Eastern Europe country as the book depicts a KGB assassination and a ruthless Kremlin regime.

The author has equally been warned by political friends to hire bodyguards while he promotes the book.

The turn down didn't come as a surprise as Russia is strict with issues relating to their leadership. The author translated 16 of his previous releases to Russian language for his Russian readers.

The novel Heads You Win was released in Britain last week and it talks about Alexander Karpenko, the protagonist who goes Russia following the assassination of his father. But returns back to confront what he ran away from.

Jeffery Archer has sold more than 330 million books in over 95 countries since his first publication.
